Hodge-Podge

By: Daphne
Sweater - Mango
Hey-oh! So let's talk about the sweater/cardigan. I got it on SALE, so don't think I'm rich for shopping at Mango hehe! I usually don't go for sweaters because I feel really hot in them where I live. I couldn't pass this up though because the fabric was so soft and thin. My sister said it looks really 'preppy', I think it's the color. One last note: I got it in XL instead of my size (S) because I wanted it like an oversized sweater. So don't be afraid to try things in different sizes because you never know, it might give off a different look that you like more.
Worn with above.
Sandals - Boutique
Worn with above.
Earrings - gift.

My stash of rings that will continue to expand
All - Unknown or in Boutiques
RINGS
Rings. My current obsession. These little things can make any outfit even more special than it already is. Here are some reasons why I love rings:
  • You can STACK them - Stack them as high as you want! On as many fingers as you want! Make sure you can bend your fingers though. XD
  • You can use them as NECKLACES - Just string them onto a chain and you're good to go!
  • They can be really CHEAP - Especially if none of them have gems.
  • They BLEND - Meaning, if you're trying to go for one look, you can wear a ring that doesn't follow that 'look', and it won't clash.

Pants - Esprit
This isn't connected to anything but I just want to show you what I got recently! It was 50% off, and I'm such a sucker for sales, so I couldn't resist. I love it because it's so different from my other pants (I'll show you guys an outfit with these SOON.). Plus, the color was gorgeous!.

So see you guys next time, and look out for our interview with The RaNdOm Girlies! http://therandomgirlies.blogspot.com

Ocean Breathes Salty

By: Daphne

Hey guys! So I went on a vacation before the end of school. I went to....the beach!

Day 1
Top: Boutique
Leggings: Forever 21
Polo: Unknown
Shorts: Unknown
Bathing suit: Arena
A: I wore this on the flight...When on a flight wear something comfortable, you don't want to be fussing on an airplane! My personal favorite thing to wear on flights are leggings and loose/baggy shirts.
B: For the second outfit I wore my tankini top as a shirt. But I covered it up with an open polo shirt. Haha I didn't know I could wear bathing suits as clothes until I read a magazine. :))

Day 2
Top: Boutique
Shorts: Zara
Sandals: Holster
This part was mostly sightseeing so I wore something I could move around in. :)

Day 3
Bikini: Speedo
Romper: Unknown
Blouse: Unknown
Boardshorts: SM
A: This day we went snorkeling, and we had to take a boat to the island so I wore this blouse as a cover-up.
B: After snorkeling we headed to the second resort so I changed into a romper cover-up.

 Day 4:
Shorts: Zara
Tank: H&M
Hat: souvenir
This day was all just relaxing...we walked on the beach and I got a henna!!!

Necklace: Souvenir

Summer Trends:

~ Nautical themed clothing
a simpler term for this is sailor esque clothing. Nowadays a lot of people like wearing tanks that have stripes and anchors theme which is what i am in to as well nowadays, it perfect for the summer a good thing to pair this up with is a hat may it be a fedora or just a normal beach hat, it also goes well with another popular trend which is colored or printed shorts.

~Printed or Colored Shorts
this summer and spring a lot of people nowadays love color blocking so people tend to add color through a pair of shorts instead of wearing plain jean shorts. Its a good way to add a pop of color to a plain tank or shirt, you can wear this with prints as well so that the textures may seem interesting.

~ Knitted sweaters
sweaters nowadays are very in as well as knitted ones, it can be a great cover up for a swimsuit or just as a top to make it look like a layed back comfy outfit you can wear when its cold -which is another good advantage! You can use it as a cover up to when you go to the beach!

~ Tribal Accessories
this is yet another popular trend which i find never ends since you can wear it at any time may it be day or night so this is something that i think can never go out of style! The good thing about this is you can stack these accessories and they'd still look casual, classy or just something fun!

By: DaphneI'd like to buy you something, but I don't have any money.

Hi haha sorry we haven't been posting, we had a hacker scare. XD Sorry again that this isn't a REAL post, I haven't had the time to take and upload stuff I've been wearing....If it's any consolation, I have that exact shirt right there in the set!  Ok, so I love Polyvore. I used to be OBSESSED with it from 2009 - 2010. As in I was in London and I wouldn't go on some tours just to be on this website the whole day. (I regret that so much now -_-). I you have one, add me?
Check out the song btw! Money - Drums. T he lyrics are funny/cool.

Shot

Hey guys! It's Daphne. Soooooo, this is what Pam and I wore to photography class!

bag - Iroiro
I'm really into these seaside styled bags now. I think It's the thick ropes that give it the sailor-esque vibe. I even got a backpack with a similar design!
Shoes: Staccato
Pam's shoes are so cute aren't they? Although she got blisters she said, 'You have to suffer for style', or something like that. XD I think she just needed to break them in.
Shirt: Nava/ Shorts: Oxygen/ Tank: Unknown
I loved that long tank she's wearing!

Unknown
Haha, our other photography classmate wore these shoes and I found them so funky that I shot them without her noticing!

Top - H&M
Skirt - In Fashion
Necklace - From mom and dad's beach trip
Here's my outfit! This outfit was really comfortable although I get really fussy when I wear a bandeau 'cause I think it's falling. Of course it didn't. XD On the skirt, I loved it! Usually when I wear skirts I feel like my backside is exposed, but the fabric of this one was heavier than my others so I didn't worry at all!

That's it! (sorry for the lame post). =D

Shredded

By: Daphne

belt - unknown
jeans - VIVA & PS
T-shirt - unknown

Necklace - Mom
Hey guys! So, I wore this outfit to watch Avengers! haha there's no connection but that's just what I did when I wore it. :) Avengers was awesome by the way. There was really good character development and amazing action. XD
I was feeling really edgy/grungy today haha. So I went all out with a studded belt, ripped jeans, and some swirly/pointy necklace. :) Only the jeans and belt were very grungy and edgy but it's enough for this topic:

GRUNGE FASHION
Grunge is back! It started in the 90's because of the influence of grunge/punk/rock bands (just like now, only now it's pop/dance/hip-hop).

This link shows some ways to have 'grunge beauty':
http://glo.msn.com/beauty/return-of-grunge-5719.gallery#!stackState=0__%2Fbeauty%2Freturn-of-grunge-5719.gallery%3FphotoId%3D18495
If you don't want to to open the link, most of the tips were -
  • Dark rimmed eyes or dark eyeshadow.
  • Mussed up hair, bedhead (that'll be easier in the morning XD), and unwashed hair (not recommended)
  • Laid back style.
For clothes:
  • Grungy dress
  • Faded denim
  • plaid
  • Distressed jeans

EDGY FASHION
It's more of 'breaking the rules' of what fashion is; Unique clothes.

Organizing your closet!

by: DaphneFor my blog

Made on polyvore.com

Does your closet look like a natural disaster just happened? Mine used to be like that, but while I had a free day, I sat down and took everything out of the closet. Here are some tips on how to get it more organized!

  • Before refolding and stacking, look through your clothes and set aside stuff you don't really want anymore, or don't fit. Look through them again and see if they're worth keeping (or worth modifying).

NEXT
  • Pants and leggings is one stack, shorts and skirts in another. This is because they're similar in length. Though I suggest long skirts should be hung.
  • For shirts, keep tank tops, blouses, regular t-shirts, and croptops/ drapey shirts in different stacks. If you don't have that much space, you can combine t-shirts with croptop/drapey shirts.
  • Some people organize their shirts by color. I don't do this because there are to many colors XD, and even if you don't organize it by color, it's still easy to see what colors they are. If it works for you then good job!
  • I suggest keeping 'house clothes', and sleeping clothes in a different place altogether.
  • Keep underwear in a drawer. This is kinda obvious.

Hang jackets/coats/dresses. You can fold FLOWY vests, but hang stiff or big vests.

FINALLY
What do you do with all those clothes you don't want/don't fit?
  • Give it away to charity
  • Give it to someone who's holding a garage sale
  • Give it to your smaller sister/friend/relative
Because I don't have an outfit, here is a Fashion set I made on polyvore.com (this website is AMAZING XD) :

Random Fashion Tips :)

Hello! It's Daphne. :)
Orly - FOWL PLAY
This is a VERY pretty nail polish because It's purple with gold flecks. :)
  • NEVER lay it on too thick - this will make it peel off after a few days - that's exactly what happened with this manicure.

^Nail Polish Tip^
It's summer! (for us :)) which means it's time for summer nails!

T-shirt - Zara (I think)/gift
Skirt - Forever 21
Necklace - From parents' trip.
This outfit has no story behind it...I just really wanted to wear the skirt because right now printed/boho fabric skirts are really in, and I understand why!
  • For plain shirts, use accessories to spice up an outfit.

These kinds of accessories can range from cheap to a little pricey - it all depends if you want real or fake corals. Most of these can be found at those little vendor-style shops at beaches, beach-themed stores OR boho-themed stores. Tip:
  • Coral/rock-looking necklaces are the perfect summer accessory for the beach! It looks even better when you layer multiple necklaces.

Assorted bracelets - unknown
Nail Polish - Orly
Bangles are so old-school I guess but they still look really pretty for summertime (and any outdoor activity). Tip:
  • Stack bracelets so you don't need many other accessories...Plus it makes a pretty sound when you move...PLUS it gives a nice gypsy feel.

Shirt - Boutique
Shorts - Shortened from cargo pants
I wore this today to a casual-ish soft opening of Tips and Toes. I wore closed shoes which I do not recommend for a mani-pedi (it makes you really paranoid even when the nail polish is dry). But because I wore shorts, I wore an airy shirt with ruffled sleeves to make it more formal. I wore the bracelets because all the colors matched the comic-like shirt. :D

Money saving tips:
  • You don't need to go to fancy/expensive/branded stores to get trendy clothes - even those under-the-radar shops will have unique and trendy clothes for much less. :)
  • Instead of buying new shorts, shorten pants you've outgrown or gotten tired of - this can be done yourself, or buy a professional (even professionals can be cheap).

I have a few ideas for my ext posts. :)
Do you guys have any post ideas you'd like to see?

Unfocused

By: Daphne

So these are my sketches! I used to have more but I don't know where they are...anyway! the second ones were drawn during clubs (it's very boring in Junior Chorale). For the gown I wanted something like those mermaid styled bottoms, but I made it more airy and puffy to give the mermaid style a little twist!
For the short dress I wanted something fun but edgy! The dress is supposed to be a thin material for the light part, but a thick leathery material for the dark parts. The tights are what make it fun!
So now for the first drawing! I didn't really know what I was aiming for. I just started drawing randomly. The bejeweled top was the only main idea of mine, the rest was whatever felt best. I imagine it to be made with a really light fabric, that's why the bottom is meant to be bouncy and fluffed. The side also has a slit. I guess that's how to sketch: Don't analyze every single detail, go with the flow of the drawing!

How do you like the new logo? :)

4-in1

     Hello! It's Daphne!
So, my post got deleted accidentally though I don't know how. But I'm re-doing it!
Vest - Bazaar
Jeans - Guess
Tank - Unknown
Necklace - brooch from my mom on a chain
So the first outfit I wore to a lunch with my mom and her friends. I think this outfit was perfect for that occasion because it had the sophistication to make a good impression on adults. :P But of course it was also a very fun outfit because it had that trendy but comfy feel to it.

Romper - Unknown
I wore this when I went to the mall with my family for lunch . I was really lazy to dress up that day so a romper was perfect! Rompers are perfect for something you just want to throw on - like a dress! But since dresses are more on the formal side, rompers are really nice because they have the same idea as a dress (in my opinion) but are more casual.
Bracelet - Gift from my dad
      I love this beach-y bracelet 'cause it's so laid-back!

Shrug - Garage sale
Tank - Gift (but from SM)
Skirt - Gingersnaps
I wore this one to mass and that's why I wore the sweater! The reason I paired this skirt and tank is because I felt the skirt was too dressy. Tank tops are naturally very casual so pairing dressy with casual give it the balance of just right. :)
*No shrug

Shirt - Forever 21
Shorts - My mom had it made from my dad's extra pant fabric
I wore this on a mall trip with my friends where we watched the Lorax! That movie was so adorable with some catchy songs. :D I wore this because since it was a friend outing, I wanted to be youthful and use the trend of bright summer colors! I really loved the color combo of pink and orange!

That's it for now!

Ooh, and we just finished our logo for the blog so it'll have that little extra pop. :)

Double Trouble

Pam (Left) and Daphne (Right)

Daphne

Pam
Pam (Left)
Shirt: HerBench/ Pants: Jag/ Shoes: Random Store/ Necklace: Gift
Daphne (Right)

Hey guys it's Pam once again! So you're probably wondering why me and Daphne are in one picture well its because we had a Parent-Daughter Recollection in school so yeah, and we we weren't able to wear shorts because if we did that would violate our school rules.

Anyways so the first pic is me and Daphne- Im on the left and Daphne is on the right- So i had a simple shirt tucked in, a pair of pants that we're cut on my mid-thigh with a simple brown belt and black shoes, and to make this outfit more interesting i placed on a necklace that i received from my friend Beatrice who was featured in this blog before. Daphne's outfit is a plain blue drappy shirt with a tank top under with simple gray jeans and to add a pop of color pink shoes of course! But let's not forget the red necklace which again adds a pop of color which is a perfect example of adding different colors!

It's okay if your outfit is blue and has red and pink as your complementary color because it makes everything much more fab, because like what most designers say if everything is pink it's going to be too match-y and end up plain and boring! So mix up your colors as long as they look good together! ;D

The second picture is our shoes and again I'm on the left and Daphne is on the right and my shoes are simple compared to Daphne's which are adorable! But I'm not sure if you can see it but my black shoes are rooched! (Idk how to spell it..)

The third picture is Daphne's necklace which was given by Anne as a christmas gift and the fourth is my necklace again given by Beatrice.

Next time: Our Batch Party Special! Sketches, our project sketch, more sketches and a  bunch more outfits and guests! Stay tuned!

Your Lucky Day!

Hello! It's Daphne! Today was really fun..and these were the outfits worn by me and my friends. :)) Sorry there are no brands.

That's me on the right! I love nerdy outfits :))).I love these pants, they've been with me for years! Also, the shoes are so comfortable, but the metal rusted 'cause I thought since it's rubber it could get wet! (Silly me.) And the beautiful necklace was lent to me for the day..a close up below.
I Also loved my friend, Katrina's, outfit; he shoes and shirt rocked!
My other friend's (Bianca) outfit! I loved her shirt...it was so funny because it was draping so low and she didn't have a tank under so we pinned it up. XD
Another friend! We'll call her Beatrice, I seriously loved her jacket! Plus her necklace was so cute (close up pic below). <3
Anne's outfit!! Her tank was adorable! Her vest thing is super cute too..(and it's boho :P)...Ignore the foot to the left! haha I didn't notice it. :))
Close up of the necklace I was wearing earlier. I returned it to her later in the day. :D
Close up of Beatrice's necklace. So glam :D

Sorry Pam that you couldn't make it! We can have more gimmicks!

Feminine

Shirt - Forever 21
Shorts - Japan. :))
Bracelet - gift
Necklace - bazaar

Shirt - BAZAAR again. :D
Hello! It's Daphne. :) So, the first outfit is what I wore to a reunion last night. (It was horribly awkward 'cause I haven't talked to them in a LONG time! It was fun talking to the oldies though XD.) Anyways! I really liked that outfit because it felt so casual yet so dressy and boho - This is boho right Pam?.
I don't usually wear accessories because I'm more of a simple outfit kind of gal, but I felt the bracelet matched so much with the skirt and the necklace also had the same feel!
I really love the shorts because it looks like a skirt, plus my parents got it from their yearly couple trip. :))
I also love the shirt because it's so comfy and versatile...although it gets hot haha.
The second outfit is of my sister's. I LOVED her shirt!!! Although I don't think I would wear it because it's a bit...too feminine? It's not my style. :)) Still, I loved it!

Does it make sense to love an outfit/article of clothing and yet wouldn't want to wear it?
